Mr. Matsunaga recently talked about how some students in class are slacking off. He talked about how some students aren't finishing their blogs on time or even completing it at all! He also said that some students in the class aren't putting enough effort into their text dependent questions (questions that need to be answered, based on the article read). One thing I've noticed, is that students talk amongst themselves while Mr. M is teaching. I think this is disrespectful and a waste of everyone's time because Mr. M has to stop his teaching, and tell them to stop. When Mr. M does this, it takes time away from other students in the class who are listening.
Also, students have not been keeping up with their blogs, or even finishing them! The fact that we have already attended STN doesn't mean we can slack off and do nothing for the rest of the year. We need to get with the program and finish our blogs! Mr. M gives us two blogs a week, and expects us to finish them! I finish them at the very end of the week, but I turn it in on time. This happens because I get distracted and procrastinate! I am trying my best not to do that, which is why I've been trying to finish my blog earlier in the week and stay focused.
Students are also turning in the text dependent questions late. Mr. M specifically said that the questions were due on Monday, April 28, 2014, but several students didn't finish it and didn't turn it in. Only 9 of 26 students turned in their text dependent questions by the due date. Mr. M was very disappointed. He lectured the class about this and said that if we slack off, the class would have to do another text dependent paper. This was our second paper because students slacked off during the previous one.
To prevent this from happening and to stay on track, the class needs to discipline themselves, stay focused, and not let themselves get distracted, including me!
Mr. M wants us to finish strong and become GREAT students! We have one month left and still have a lot to do. He expects more from us. We are not little children anymore; we are young adults!
