I have learned a lot since I’ve been a part of his media productions class (CKTV). Before joining CKTV I didn’t know how to edit, set up interviews, how to use a camera properly, and many other things. This class is a wonderful experience for me, especially because it teaches me life lessons. If it weren’t for my teacher Mr. Matsunaga and my partner, I wouldn’t know any of the things I’m learning now! Next year for 7th grade, I want to do media again because I want to partner/mentor the new media student like how Haven is for me. That is an awesome feeling!
For this week’s blog, I will write about my progress on our Chiefess Kamakahelei Television (CKTV) media project. My media project is a promotion for the CKTV class. This blog will provide an update on what I have accomplished so far, and what still needs to be done.
So far, Haven and I are editing our CKTV promo. Mr. Matsunaga mentioned that we didn’t have enough interviews, so I did a last minute interview with Sharae Cua, a former student of CKTV. Haven couldn’t do the interview with me that day because she had something else to do, so I conducted the interview by myself. It’s a good thing Sharae is a former student, because she helped me get through it. Other tasks that Haven and I still have to complete are editing, transcribing Sharae’s interview (three fourths done), and doing the voice overs. Since Haven did the voice overs for the last project, I will do them this time. I did some transcribing over the past few days, but unfortunately I couldn’t accomplish as much as I would like to, but I had many other things to do for media and my other classes. This project will be due on the last day of this quarter, which is on December 17th, 2013. I think we will definitely finish on time because we are trying our absolute best! That is what’s important. Thanks for reading my blog! On Sunday, December 8th, 2013 there will be a (CKTV) (Chiefess Kamakahelei Television program) breakfast event. The breakfast will take place in the CKTV cafeteria, from 6:30am- 11:00am. CKTV students are selling tickets for 10.00 dollars each. Each breakfast plate includes Portuguese sausage, scrambled eggs, rice, ham, fresh fruits, miso soup, coffee, fruit punch, or water.
That’s not all. There will also be games for kids, a bake sale of wonderful homemade goodies, face painting, lucky number drawings, bingo, door prizes and exciting performances by the Wilcox Elementary School Creative Arts students and Excel Dance Studio. All the proceeds will be going to the CKTV, to help them go to Orlando, Florida for the Student Television Network (STN) challenge. Please come down to the CKTV breakfast on Sunday. I hope you can make it! All aboard the Polar Express! For this week’s blog, I will write about my favorite Christmas movie. I have many other favorite movies such as Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Frost the Snowman, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Santa Paws, Elf, A Christmas Carol, and much more. But, my most favorite Christmas movie is “The Polar Express.” I watched this movie almost every year.
The Polar Express is about a boy who doesn’t believe in Santa, but on Christmas Eve, a big, magical train called the Polar Express comes up in front of the boy’s house. There are many children in their PJ’s on the train. They all believe in Santa except for the boy. Later that night, the Polar Express gets to its final destination, the North Pole. The boy and two of his friends discover Santa’s work shop and Santa himself. Now the boy really believes in Santa. One reason why I like this movie is because when the snow is falling and the kids are wearing PJ’s, it makes me feel warm and cozy, like how it feels when it’s raining outside and you’re inside watching TV! Another reason why I like this movie is because the kids stick together. Both the boy who doesn’t believe in Santa and another girl tries to comfort another boy who says that Christmas doesn’t work out for him. All three children stick together while discovering Santa’s workshop. The last reason why I like this movie is because it teaches you how to believe in Christmas and enjoy it! In the movie, the main boy didn’t believe in Santa or Christmas, so he couldn’t see Santa or hear the sleigh bells on the reindeers. Towards the end, a sleigh bell landed in front of him, he picked it up and said “I BELIEVE,” because he saw Santa and heard the beautiful sound of the sleigh bells. Can you imagine a world without Christmas? I couldn’t imagine a world without it! I hope you liked my blog and read more. Until next time, good bye and have a Happy Holidays! |
