For this week’s blog, I will write about Chiefess Kamakahelei Television's (CKTV's) 4th Student Television Network (STN) practice. The fourth STN practice took place at the Kauai Marriott Hotel on Monday, February 17, 2014. The practice took place at the hotel because we needed to know how it will feel when we actually go to the STN competition. I'd really like to thank Cheryl and Chuck Brady, because of them, we were able stay on the Marriott grounds (for filming/editing); for FREE!
The teams that participated in the practice were the Music video, Movie trailer, Commercial team, Spot feature, Anchoring team, and the Public Service Announcement team (PSA). I am on the PSA team along with Justice, Dalson, and Isabel. The topic given to us was “Anti- Littering.”
For our PSA on Anti-littering, I acted as someone who was sketching, then throws the messed up drawings/paper on the ground. Then Dalson comes along and tells me to throw the paper away! We are making a lot of progress in our videos such as, making the shots straight, leveling the tripod, and having continuity.
We still need to improve on having humor in our videos. I don’t think the PSA got the audience’s attention because it wasn’t funny at all. I think having at least one more STN practice before we leave to Orlando, Florida would be great because practice makes perfect! Plus, the practices can be very fun! We want our PSA’s to be outstanding; we want people to love and comment on our PSA’s.
Overall, I think the practice was fun and we accomplished a lot. As I said earlier, I think we do need one more STN practice before we leave. Our next practice will be the “Sweet 16” practice, which is a 16 hour production held at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School, on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014. We will be doing the same thing, except we can film and edit anytime we want. Please wish us luck and thanks for reading my blog. Until next time, goodbyeee!!!
