I haven’t really thought about what the CKTV Ohana means to me, but I’ve recently thought about it a lot. The CKTV Ohana means being a part of a big family. This class is like another family to me. We all work together and stick together. We shouldn’t exclude anyone or bully our class mates. When we stick with together, we accomplish things faster.
To be in this class is a great accomplishment for me because only a few people get into this class. I was really excited when I found out that I got into this class because I knew that by the end of the year I would be a different person. The CKTV media class teaches me many life skills. Such as being more organized, how to work with other people, how to improve in communication, responsibility, self-discipline, and leadership skills.
Mr. Matsunaga said that he has been seeing some bullying and excluding of others. Although it does not bother me personally, I kind of agree with him because I’ve noticed that some of the 8th graders only sit with each other, and the boys only sit with each other too. I’ve also heard some people say “that’s my seat, grab another one.” To me, that is excluding others.
Like I said, I only heard people say it. If I saw it happen, I would have said “I think they can sit where every they want!” I bet the people who experienced that feeling felt intimidated and left out/ not part of the family. :(
Like Mr. Matsunaga said, we are all in this TOGETHER! We are family, so let’s treat each like brothers and sisters with respect and ALOHA.
